“Chagrin Falls Intermediate School is a safe and welcoming place for all learners.”
The Intermediate School houses approximately 400 students in grades four through six. Academic classes at each grade level are departmentalized and range from 80 to 120 minutes long. Our teachers provide students with rich and meaningful educational experiences and are skilled at differentiating instruction in order to meet the individual needs of every learner. Opportunities for academic growth are developed through tiered instruction, including advanced courses in language arts and math. Additional special classes are offered through our Encore Rotation, where students can take library, guidance, music, physical education, art, Spanish, and Project Lead the Way.
Intervention and enrichment are provided daily through our innovative and fun Personalized Learning Time, or PLT period. Students explore new ideas and develop their interests by participating in unique classes, such as STRETCH, Math Games, Poetry Study, and Current Events. Other initiatives include Writers' Forum, Career Day, and Arts Day.
We have a wide variety of after school programs at the Intermediate School. These clubs have been wonderful avenues for team building, community awareness, and friendship. They have also helped students to form strong school spirit. Our children can participate in Select Choir, Student Council, P.A.W.S. (our student service organization), Rocket Club, Art Club, and Destination Imagination.
We were honored to be named a "Hall of Fame School" in 2005 by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators. In recognition of our hard work and high student achievement, we were also named a National Blue Ribbon School in 2009. None of this would be possible without the commitment and dedication of our talented staff and the collaboration between our schools, families, and supportive community.
