Kindergarten Registration Information


Kindergarten Kickoff - Parent Meeting - April 6th - 6:00 pm
Kindergarten Screening - May 4 and 5, 2017

You may register your child for Kindergarten at Gurney Elementary School
between 9:00 am - 11:00 am and 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm
If you are unable to register your child at those times, you may call Jill Koval - 440-247-5500 Ext. 4004 and set up an appointment
(If you are unsure about the decision to send your child to kindergarten, please register them and have them complete the kindergarten screening process and make your decision following that process)

A Few Reminders

  • NO SCHOOL - April 14
  • CLICK HERE to print out the Student Information Sheet (found on page 3 within the April 2017 newsletter)
  • The Preschool Parent/Teacher Conferences scheduled for April 19 have been rescheduled to Monday, April 24. 
  • If you need to change your child's afternoon transportation you MUST call by 2:00 p.m. 
  • Our Lost and Found is piling up and will be donated on April 7. Please take a few minutes to come in and look through the Lost and Found table.
  • A NOTE TO PARENTS/GUARDIANS: When you send in money for your child's lunch, field trip, etc. PLEASE place the money in an envelope with the child's name, teacher and what the payment is for. If you find you have to send your child in with cash, PLEASE attach a note to the cash with the child's name, teacher and what it is for. Thank you!

SaferOH Now Used by District as Tipline

SaferOH Now Used by District as Tipline

Chagrin Falls Exempted Village Schools has begun using a new safety resource, SaferOH, for its anonymous tip line that is free of charge. The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety established this service in response to Governor Kasich's comprehensive school safety plan. The tip line will accept both calls and texts 24 hours a day for registered schools. More +

Online Absence Reporting Forms

Online Absence Reporting
 All absences should be reported by 9:00 AM. Attendance Rules refresher per the Chagrin Schools Student Handbook.
Arrival - 8:25 a.m.
Classes begin at 8:35 a.m.
Dismissal - 3:20 p.m. 
Transportation Changes MUST be made by 2:00 p.m. and called in to the main office. No transportation changes will be accepted after 2:00 p.m. unless it is an emergency. Do not contact the teacher directly for any transportation changes during the day, call the Gurney office at 440-893-4030.
