Principal's Message

Principal's Message

Greetings and welcome to the Chagrin Falls Middle School webpage. This site is designed to bridge the connection between home and school; to provide you with information pertaining to all of our excellent programs and to recognize all of the wonderful things that are happening here.

As principal I am committed to building a community of learners where students are provided engaging, meaningful instruction with high academic and civic expectations while teachers are provided relevant, meaningful professional development to promote growth that will impact the classroom.
CFMS is rich with opportunities like the “Advisory Tiger Period”, leveled courses, clubs, athletics, arts, philanthropy and our Innovation Center with Makerspace, which will act as an area to explore, collaborate and create in the disciplines of STEM and literature. Our teachers practice teaming; being reflective practitioners, placing emphasis on collaboration, focusing on student learning and exploring necessary interventions and instructional strategies. We are also the recipients of the coveted Blue Ribbon Award, 2010, the Ohio School’s to Watch Award, 2016 and 2019 and an A on our most recent state report card. These awards were earned due to high academic achievement, high-quality instruction, a sustainable and focused district vision and community partnerships, all which strengthen our students’ educational experience.

Our students will learn. Our students will be challenged. Our students will be empowered to maximize their potential. Our students will succeed. We will care for these students personally, listen to their voices, respect their concerns, and engage them in meaningful educational experiences that will prepare them for a promising future.

Please contact me any time, as my door is always open.

Proud to be a Tiger,
Mrs. Laila Discenza
